Welcome to the Kelvin Nanocharacterisation Centre
The Kelvin Nanocharacterisation Centre houses some of the latest instrumentation for studying materials at the nanoscale or below, together with staff experienced in making optimal use of this equipment to study today's nanostructured materials and devices.
The centre has the following key aims:
- To develop and use state-of-the-art imaging, diffraction and analytical techniques to characterise advanced functional and structural materials.
- To interact with academic and industrial colleagues to improve our understanding of fundamental processes in solids.
- To use the new knowledge to improve the performance of materials with properties tailored for specific applications.
Collaborative Work
We welcome collaborative projects with both academic and industrial colleagues where our expertise brings added value. We undertake contract work provided it fits in with the work programmes of our main grants and available staff effort. For more information please contact our facility manager.
